#2 Impact of Technology

by Chi Chi

Teachers and students use technology in the classroom because it makes learning more engaging, and productive. I think technology is made for school to use in the classroom, so we have many applications for students to learn the lesson effectively. I am a student and I see technology as the best invention because I can organize and submit my documents professionally. People can connect to your portfolio and projects. We can network. Teachers and students have illustrations, and ideas that can be presented when we use technology that allows us to be knowledgeable, satisfied, and passionate in teaching and learning.

A digital native is a person who has grown up in the digital world, such as the internet, computers, and mobile devices. A digital native relies on and is comfortable with using and navigating technology and has a different way of thinking since they belong to the generation of innovation and technology, compared to those who do not have access to it. I have seen the differences, such as digital immigrants being happy and optimistic to learn to use technology, yet they are slow and tired to learn more of that skill because I think they believe that technology is for benefits of digital natives or today's youth. My mother always calls me every time she needs help with technology for school, such as zoom. I teach her beforehand, but then she forgets it. I understand myself that I am young and quick to learn. I grew up experimenting with technology, so I have learned to be sensitive to their feelings. I think I can recommend feedback for my future students. My teaching is very open for correction and improvement, so that they can learn proactively. I cannot beat technology or AI when the time comes when teachers seem unnecessary anymore. I want them to express their opinions and thoughts privately by sending me messages and being honest in using technology.

Hi! I love your positive outlook on technology. I agree I think it can be great for networking, learning, and engaging with others. I also like that you empathize with and understand the older generations aren't too "tech-savvy." I have to help my parents too with tech-help and it's so good to be patient with them. I also liked that you ended talking about how you want your future students to be honest and open with you about the technology they use. So important! Thank you for your blog:)

Hey! I like that you brought up the idea that we rely on technology a lot as digital natives and as a society in general. There is a lot that we wouldn't be able to do without technology (writing these blogs for one!). It begs the question of just how much more reliant future students will be on technology and how much we as teachers will need to adapt and learn to keep up with them. I also like that you brought up advancing AI technologies and how potentially teachers will not be needed in the future. It's an interesting concept to think about, and I like to think that (hopefully!) that will never be the case, as teachers and…
