#1 Authenticity
I think I can check if it is real by reading all the facts, and evidence that will not sound illogical and incoherent. There are many websites that have used correct citation such as bibliography, index, references and in text citation. As a student, I should know if it is scholarly or academic made based on their writing by looking grammar, vocabulary, and the message of the body if it is organized, and coherent. You will see if it is authentic by looking thoroughly of the websites URL if it has edu, gov, or sources that look professional. A trustworthy friend who recommends it for you will be helpful to state its validation. It is important because it affects our learning through analyzing the situation. It will affect our views of the world and our thinking. It is so critical to be observant to avoid misleading an information. Somehow, it will create hostility that can destruct many people. Finding a situation or website that is fact make us protected and be aware. It can protect our family from hazardous of websites like scammers, and terrorist.
#2 Authorship
The author can usually be seen of their message at the end of the reading. I think the author's experience in writing can tell if it is real article by simplifying and easy to understand the message. Look for their name around other sites in regards of their publications, reputations, or reviews. Check if their name is spelled correctly and a brief biography is not too long. Her/His life is stating a fact. It is important because we can give importance and credit to the owner. We can support her/his work. We can get ideas where he/she got the information or sources that we should be aware of. It is important to know him/her because we should not be clueless, and we can share our opinion for them by providing feedback.
Thank you for sharing Shaila. I agree that authenticity is one of the important factors to evaluate sources. Looking at the end of the URL is helpful to check whether the website is actual or not. Authorship is also an important factor, and I learned that I should focus on it when I evaluate the resources.
