ISTE Standards: For Educators
2.1 Learner
“Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others, and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to boost student learning”.
I was a student at BYU-Pathway, and I appreciated all the teachers who taught us to use technology orderly. I recall that I have a teacher who demonstrated us to make professional portfolios in which it has all our professional written projects and assignments. She always made a long post with a scripture included. I admire how thoughtful they were to allow us to succeed in the class. She taught me to love photography and editing for journalism. I learned to explore the outside of our house like our surroundings. She taught me to make a video that took me an hour to do on Capcut. It was so amazing and fun to learn from her. I learned from her to be aesthetic and creative.

2.3 Citizen
“Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world”.
I always promote innovation and take advantage of the use of technology. One thing I admire is Amazon because it never stops inventing technology to the benefits of family in the home. I admire that the church uses all possibilities to provide us with the technology in where we can access it easily like doing it in church and gather with friends. I am learning to cook simple and easy recipes and I always follow recipes on TikTok. I sometimes make a video on YouTube to practice my speaking. I really appreciate it a lot.
Hello Shaila, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
I really like what you shared. I can tell by the way your blog is so well and beautifully organised that you had teachers who helped you make the best of your use of technology. When you mentioned the fact that one of your teachers taught you how to make good and professional portfolios, I simultaneously made a connection with your blog design. I really like it, thank you.
I also think that quoting the standards you used was a really good idea because it enables us as readers to have a better understanding of what you are talking about.
Citizen is also an important standard for me. Thank you…
Being a citizen is so important because you set an example of how to use technology appropriately for your students. It's so great that you want to emphasize that in the classroom! I also like that you pointed out the positive ways that social media can influence our lives. We can learn a lot of fun skills and hobbies from social media platforms like Youtube, Tiktok, etc.
I liked the quotes you integrated! Also cool that you did pathways. I loved reading how much you learned from your pathways teacher. Doing classes online is sometimes hard for people but it sounded like a great experience for you:) Also I agree. The church is so great at keeping up with technology and provides us with so much information and ways to connect. Thanks for your post:)
